Remembrance and Armistice

Each year we gather together in both villages to commemorate those lost in wars past and present. We have a long tradition of large commemorative services for Remembrance Day, with parades in both villages and strong ties to the Royal British Legion.

Armistice Day 2021

On Thursday 11th November we will congregate to observe the two minutes silence and say a few words to mark the occasion.

Banwell – 10.45am in St. Andrew’s Churchyard

Congresbury – 10.45am outside the War Memorial Hall

These short services will also be livestreamed.

Remembrance Sunday 2021

Congresbury – 10.30am

Join us for our service of Remembrance, followed by laying of wreathes at the war graves.

Banwell – 3pm

This service of Remembrance takes place as part of the parade from the Scout Hut, followed by an act of Remembrance at the Cenotaph and refreshments at the Scout Hut.

Both services will be Livestreamed to the New Creation Facebook page and to the Love Congresbury and Love Banwell pages respectively.
